Thank you for visiting Stretton Climate Care

Our website is currently under construction and due for completion by January 2008

The organisation is very new and now in the final stages of development with a view to being fully operational early in 2008.

Being aware of the global nature of climate change, but also our individual local responsibilities, we recently formed Stretton Climate Care to encourage our local community to reduce its carbon footprint to be as low a level as feasible, as quickly as we can. We are now in the final stages of development with a view to being fully operational early in 2008.

Since April 2007 we have:

  • organised two well attended public meetings - the most recent with over 70 people.
  • formed a Steering Committee of over 15 members.
  • formed an Executive Committee with 9 trustees.
  • formed two Working sub-Groups one to tackle finance and funding and the other for publicity and campaigns.
  • adopted a Constitution, Mission Statement, Aims, Objectives, and prepared an Action Plan and Budget for our first 3 years of operation.
  • attracted both financial and in kind support from local businesses.
  • recruited over 40 paying members and attracted over £450 of memberships, donations, and sales of odd recycled items since August 2007.

We are currently planning to:

  • provide you with advice to help cut your carbon foot print and save you money and we aim to help the most vulnerable keep warmer for less money.
  • offer a newsletter to members keeping them informed of events, items of interest and the progress we are making as a community to reduce our carbon footprint
  • provide a drop in service
  • hold carbon foot printing classes
We are looking for new members and volunteers to assist with this exciting new venture and would be pleased to hear from you.
